Dr. Edwin Clausen

 

Edwin Clausen - Ph.D., University of California at Santa Barbara

As Director of Academic Planning and Programs, Dr. Clausen has the opportunity to participate in many creative endeavors. He is a modern Chinese historian, fluent in Chinese and specializing in Third World issues. Before coming to Arizona International, he taught at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Lafayette College in Easton, PA, and he headed the History Department and Global Studies Program at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. He received his BA in History at the University of California at Riverside and his MA and Ph.D. in History at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Dr. Clausen, who has co-authored and co-edited five books, has a genuine love for teaching and administration: "What on earth could be better than working with minds that are interesting, creative, challenging, and thoughtful?"
